Eastern Shore delegation approves minutes, hears federal and state updates and adjourns

The chair asked for a motion to approve the minutes from Jan. 17. A motion was moved and seconded; the chair called for a voice vote and the minutes were approved by those present. The delegation heard remarks and updates from U.S. Rep. Andy Harris, Maryland Department of Agriculture Secretary Kevin Addicks, Maryland Farm Bureau director Tyler Huff and representatives of the Harry R. Hughes Center for Agroecology, among others.
The meeting concluded after a federal updates segment; a motion to adjourn was made, seconded and the delegation adjourned.
Ending: Delegation members indicated they would reconvene for routine business and follow up on items discussed, including avian influenza response, fisheries initiatives and forthcoming research recommendations from the Hughes Center.
