Taneytown Planning Commission approves 2024 annual report for county filing; minutes adopted

The Taneytown Planning Commission approved two routine items at its January meeting: adoption of the Nov. 25, 2024 minutes and submission of the commission’s 2024 annual report to Carroll County.

Chairman Parker called for approval of the draft minutes for Nov. 25, and after no corrections were offered a motion was seconded by Commissioner Chris; commissioners approved the minutes by voice vote.

On the annual report, Daryl told the commission the form “reflects our activity for the year 2024” and noted the report includes one subdivision that created two lots and several nonresidential site-plan reviews, including work by EVAPCO. Daryl said the chairman would sign a cover letter that staff will forward to the county; the county compiles municipal submissions and reports them to the state.

“I'll make that motion that we submit the annual report to the county,” a commissioner said; another commissioner seconded. The commission approved the submission by voice vote. Chairman Parker said he would sign the report later and staff would send it to the county.

The meeting record shows the commission noted one new lot resulting from a subdivision on Tawny View (a single lot split into two parcels) and ongoing nonresidential site-plan activity near EVAPCO, including an upcoming parking-lot proposal.
