Wabasha County commissioners approve consent agenda including highway contracts, licenses and sheriff agreements

The Wabasha County Board of Commissioners approved the consent agenda, which included minutes from the Jan. 7 meeting, claims and premiums, signature-authority finance updates, highway contract awards and purchases, planning and zoning licenses for 2025, and sheriff office payments and lease authority.

Items listed on the consent agenda included: acceptance and award of a highway bid and contract; authorization to purchase two replacement mowers and culvert material for the highway department; approval of 2025 licenses to collect and transport solid waste and recyclables and approval of a transfer facility license; payment authorization to the Southeast Minnesota Violent Crime Enforcement Team; and authorization of a lease agreement between the sheriff's office and the Naval Surface Warfare Center (transcript referenced this entity as the “Naval Surface Welfare Center” — corrected to the commonly used agency name in the public record).

Commissioner Walker moved to approve the consent agenda and Commissioner Springer seconded. The chair called for the ayes; the motion carried with all commissioners present (Commissioner Key was absent earlier in the meeting).
