Commissioners approve broad slate of routine contracts, bids and budget items

The Carbon County Board of Commissioners approved a large number of routine administrative actions, contracts, grant modifications and bid awards during the meeting.

Key approvals included advertisement and project authorization for a pedestrian-bridge rehabilitation project at the administration building; approval of CDBG-related items including Palmerton Borough bids; award of the Carbon County Whole Home Repair Program bid; approval of procurement items for the correctional facility and security systems (Keystone Fire and Security); ratification of contracts for communications equipment (Green's Communications) and marketing (WBRE 28 annual campaign); renewal or award of technology agreements (Tyler Technologies quote, court Zoom license amendment); and ratification of audit- and actuarial-contract actions (termination of RKL LLC, ratification of Baker Tilly proposal, and approval of an actuarial services agreement with Foster & Foster).

The board also approved budget transfers, checks and treasurer reports; ratified a letter authorizing Apollo Edison to conduct the electricity auction; and approved grant-related items including a DEP municipal waste planning grant, an Emergency Services Training Center capital grant application to PEMA and an ESG budget amendment. Commissioners recorded the standard motions and seconded votes; the meeting record shows the motions carried as noted for each agenda item.

Because many items were routine and noncontroversial, discussion was limited and most approvals were recorded with a standard roll-call affirmation.
