The Allentown City Public Works Committee voted to send Bill 48 to the full City Council. The ordinance would amend the 2025 capital fund budget to transfer $1,698,288.29 into a capital account for projects tied to American Parkway.
City staff said the item is an amendment to an ordinance the council previously approved and that the additional money will be added to the city's capital account to support construction work funded in part by a Green Light Go grant. "All we're doing this evening is amending the original ordinance to add additional funding into our 76 account so we could do the construction under the Green Light Go grant monies that we received for this project," the staff member said.
Committee members did not raise substantive questions during the presentation. A committee member moved to send the bill to council and a second was recorded; a voice vote followed with the committee chair calling for ayes and the motion advancing to council.
The committee record does not list individual vote counts or the names of the motion maker and seconder. The ordinance will next be considered by the full City Council; no council date was specified in the committee discussion.
