City code enforcement staff reported that the house at 605 North Arthur, owned by Keith Dawson, was demolished by a contractor; staff presented before-and-after photos and told the Building Standards Commission that the principal hazard — the house — has been removed.
"They got that house tore all the way down," Ricky Denny, code enforcement staff, said during the update. Denny said the demolition work started May 14, 2025, and concluded May 28, 2025, and that the immediate life-safety concern posed by the house has been abated. He added that the owner still has equipment, tires and an old shop at the rear of the lot that is in poor condition and will be addressed in a future code action.
No formal commission action was taken on the item beyond receipt of the report. Staff said they will continue to work with the owner to resolve remaining debris and outbuilding conditions.
