Committee members debated whether the Tuesday 10:30 p.m. end time listed in the application was a typographical error and raised concerns about noise for nearby residents and late-night traffic on Highway 36. One member said no other weeknight requests in the packet extended past 9:30 p.m., and several members urged treating similar requests consistently across businesses rather than singling one out.
After discussion, a committee member moved to amend the application so the Irish Cottage 2 Tuesday outdoor music (July 1–Oct. 28) would end by 9:30 p.m.; the motion was seconded and the committee voted in favor. Committee members also agreed that staff (city clerk) will flag future license applications that request music later than the committee’s preferred weekday cutoff so they can be reviewed further or returned to the committee.
Officials noted past cases where the committee had adjusted hours for other establishments (for example, earlier compromise hours of 6–9:30 p.m. for a separate Thursday request) and said any citywide change to weekday music hours would require a resolution or ordinance. City staff cautioned against making a permanent rule without documentation of complaints or a formal policy and said a resolution or ordinance could be considered later if the council wanted a consistent citywide standard.
The committee then approved the full list of licenses as amended. The meeting record shows no named roll-call on the amendment vote; members answered “Aye” and the chair declared the motion passed.
The renewal paperwork lists Jerry Bransky as the renewal contact associated with the Tipsy LLC/Iirish Cottage 2 filing; committee members said staff attempted to contact the business about the application but did not reach the owner before the meeting.
