The Planning Commission approved a site-plan review for building additions at GE Aerospace properties on Latimer Drive, authorizing a 33,800-square-foot addition to the primary building, a smaller storage addition, and parking reconfiguration that results in a net increase of 45 parking spaces.
Staff said GE Aviation (GE Aerospace) owns three adjacent parcels and has started the process to combine them; the commission’s approval was conditioned on combining the lots and amending stormwater permits to reflect the new impervious coverage and drainage design. Staff reported the westerly sites are largely already paved and that the project increases landscaped islands and preserves a buffer of trees along the site’s north edge adjacent to residential property.
Todd Stavey of Excel Engineering, representing the applicant, described the work as largely straightforward and noted the project includes additional perimeter plantings and a preservation of a significant tree buffer to the north. He confirmed the applicant is netting 45 additional parking spaces and will coordinate stormwater permitting with city engineering.
Commissioners moved and supported approval with the conditions that parcels be combined and necessary stormwater permit amendments be completed; a roll-call vote approved the site plan.
