Linn County commissioners approve three automatic aid agreements with neighboring cities

The Linn County Board of Commissioners voted to accept three automatic aid agreements with Pleasanton, Lacing and the City of Lynn Valley during its June 9 meeting.
The agreements, each approved by voice vote, formalize mutual aid between the county and the named municipalities for fire and emergency response. Commissioner (unnamed) made each motion; all motions were moved and seconded and carried with all commissioners saying “aye.”
Randy Hegweld, Linn County Real Fire Emergency Management, told commissioners the workshop held the previous week between the Fire Chiefs and county officials “went very well” and that the documents appeared ready to move forward. “I think it’s something that can be agreed upon, move forward,” Hegweld said.
After the votes, the county indicated it will sign the agreements and forward them to the cities for their counter-signatures and implementation.
The agreements were added to the agenda under old business and approved as individual motions per county procedure.
