City health officials and staff used Wednesday’s council meeting to promote upcoming public-health outreach and a new city app.
A Bureau of Health representative said Together for Chester, in partnership with Penn Medicine, Main Line Health, Crozer, Drexel and other health providers, will host an access event Saturday, June 28, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will have two locations: Chester City Hall and Chester Charter Scholars Academy on the West Side. Services advertised include help getting connected to new health-care providers, assistance with prescription renewals and help obtaining medical records from Crozer.
The health official also said that on Saturday, Sept. 9, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and Nemours, in collaboration with the Delaware County Health Department and the Foundation for Delaware County, plan a childhood vaccine and physical-exam event to help students get ready for school; timing is expected on a weekend and details will be provided as they are confirmed.
Separately, a city staff member promoted “Chester City Connect,” a city mobile app that sends notifications and neighborhood information. The staffer said the app is free in app stores and offered QR-code cards for download.
Ending: Flyers for the June 28 event were made available in English and Spanish at the meeting; health staff said interns will be in the lobby daily to help residents connect to care between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
