Planning staff told the Planning Board they are finalizing a draft transportation needs assessment with the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) and expect to present a full draft for board review at the June 24 meeting.
Josh Morris said the report and its appendix — which board members had requested — should be complete within weeks. He said staff will meet with the consultant to incorporate final comments and deliver a draft suitable for board feedback. Morris described MAPC as the regional planning agency representing about 100 towns and cities in the Boston area and said a MAPC representative had briefed the board in a prior meeting.
Board members asked whether the draft could be posted on the town website for public review; staff said they anticipated posting the draft when the version sent to board members is ready. No formal vote was required for the assessment, which is a staff initiative; Morris said the board’s feedback would guide any final edits.
The board scheduled comment and review of the draft at the June 24 meeting and encouraged staff to make the document available online for community review.
