The Washington City Land Use Authority on June 4 approved the preliminary plat for High Spur at Long Valley, a proposal by D.R. Horton to build 139 townhome units on roughly 11.08 acres in the Long Valley area.
Staff said the project conforms to the PCD zoning for the location and includes approximately 10,300 square feet of amenity area (playground and shade canopy) as well as access to larger Long Valley amenities already constructed by the developer. The application includes two phases; staff and the applicant said existing, larger amenities in the development are already built and available for residents.
Commissioners discussed phasing and whether new amenities for the subdivision should be completed before later phases; staff said Long Valley already has significant amenities and that phase-specific amenities will be addressed in conditions and at final plat. Commissioner Anderson moved to approve the preliminary plat consistent with staff findings and conditions; Commissioner Davis seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
