Arlington ISD trustees endorse Julie Cole for TASB Region 11 director

The Arlington ISD Board of Trustees on June 5 unanimously endorsed Julie Cole of Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD for the Region 11, Position A seat on the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) board of directors.
Vice President Sarah McMorrow moved the endorsement, saying, "I move that the board endorse missus Julie Cole, Hurst Euless Bedford of Hurst Euless Bedford ISD for Region 11 position a of the Texas Association of School Boards, board of directors." A second was recorded; the board then voted, and the clerk announced that all seven trustees voted in the affirmative.
Trustees who spoke in favor noted Cole's experience with regional trustee groups and legislative advocacy. President Chapa and others said they had worked with Cole previously through area associations and described her as experienced in Texas public education governance. The motion carried 7-0.
