Kenosha paratransit provider notifies county, says it will end service in June

Kenosha Achievement Center (KAC) has told both the City of Kenosha and Kenosha County that it will stop providing Caravan paratransit service in June, county staff reported at a Human Services Committee meeting. County staff said they are awaiting the city’s decision on next steps and are weighing plans to contract with KAC for county-only coverage if the city does not continue the joint arrangement.
The notice ‘‘they have given us a notice that they're going to end services’’ was relayed to the committee by Katie Hanks, identified in the meeting as the county’s quality analyst for human services. Hanks said KAC informed officials it is taking a ‘‘substantial loss’’ on the city contract and cannot continue under current terms.
