The Ravena Village Board on June 3 approved appointments for the 2025 pool season, set hourly rates for staff, and confirmed nonresident pass prices.
The board appointed Jasmine Powell as pool director at $20.60 per hour, Aaron June as assistant director at $18.00 per hour, and Catherine Burch as head lifeguard at $16.75 per hour. Returning lifeguards were approved at $16.50 per hour (Lauren O'Connor, Cassidy Sickle, Victoria O'Brien, Phoenix Andrews, Owen Smith, Sydney Young). A single new lifeguard, identified in the meeting as Ziv Yuga, was approved at $15.50 per hour. The appointments were made effective immediately.
The village also set nonresident pass prices for the season: single nonresident $60, two-person nonresident $110, and family nonresident $135. Nonresident daily passes remain $5; visitors accompanying a resident may enter for $3. Officials said resident pools remain free for village residents and families.
Trustee Linda (first name used in the record) presented the motion to appoint the lifeguards and set rates; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. Linda said the village hopes to open the pool earlier than last year, but a health department inspection is scheduled for June 26 and will determine the earliest possible opening. Officials said the pool typically opens on graduation weekend when possible but delayed openings have occurred previously because of staffing shortages.
The board also said the splash pad will be tested and expected to be ready around the same time as the pool start-up.
