The court called for a voice vote; the motion carried.
The court discussed when the personnel changes should take effect. Commissioner Cox said it was his intent for the change to take effect “starting now immediately.” After clarifying payroll schedules, the court agreed the restructure would be effective for the payroll period that begins May 17 (the June 6 payroll period) and that there would be no back pay. County staff confirmed implementing the changes on that payroll would avoid manual split-pay calculations.
The vote was recorded as a voice vote in open session; the court announced the motion carried. The action followed a closed-session discussion conducted under Texas Government Code Section 551.074 (personnel matters).
The court moved on to other agenda items after concluding action on item 29.
