Tabitha’s Way marks 15 years, asks city to help collect food and promote block party

Wendy Osborne, executive with Tabitha’s Way Local Food Pantry, told the council the organization is marking its 15th anniversary and launching a monthlong celebration culminating in a community block party on June 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the group’s new facility in Spanish Fork (the former Safeway site).
Osborne said Tabitha’s Way hopes to mobilize residents through a “No Hunger Pledge” campaign and set goals for collecting food and raising funds to provide additional meals, and she asked the city to help by allowing food-drive collection bins at city offices and permitting posters and banners in public spaces to promote the event.
Council members responded supportively and asked Osborne to send event details to city staff member Patrick to follow up on logistics. No formal council action was taken during the meeting; staff will review the requests and coordinate next steps with the pantry.
Osborne said the pantry serves thousands of individuals locally and asked the council to support promotion and collection efforts as part of the anniversary.
