PHARR, Texas — The Pharr City Commission on May 19 voted unanimously to suspend an interim rate filing by Texas Gas Service, appointed a mayor pro tem and alternate, and approved several routine contracts and purchases including construction management and design services for improvements to the Pharr Event Center.
The commission adopted a resolution to suspend the June 24, 2025, effective date of an interim-rate proposal submitted by Texas Gas Service for the Rio Grande Valley service area, giving the city additional time to review the company's proposal. Commissioners then moved through consent and agenda items that passed without recorded opposition.
