Belinda, representing Central Weber discussions, said a Verizon (MCI Communications) line relocation at 1900 West is being estimated at roughly $450,000; Central Weber budget documents in the meeting packet showed a $600,000 allowance because the contractor noted costs are variable. Belinda said the relocation estimate could change as contract details are finalized.
Belinda described major development activity in the Nordic Valley area and noted the developers there are evaluating sewer conveyance options. She reported the developers have discussed costs on the order of $100 million to run a sewer line over the mountain into Central Weber, with alternative approaches that could reduce that figure to around $50 million. She said the area currently has roughly 2,200 to 2,600 septic tanks and that long-term planning is required to address capacity and water-quality concerns, particularly near a type-1 waterway referenced in the meeting.
Belinda said Central Weber will adopt its budget and that a three-year tax referenced in the packet is at its final year. She asked the district to be aware of these regional infrastructure and funding pressures as planning continues.
The board received the update without further action recorded on the West Haven SSD agenda.
