City staff and event organizers told the council Jan. 21 that Terrace Days merchandise will be sold through a local vendor, with no upfront city cost and no minimum order.
Carlos, who presented the proposal, said the vendor — identified as Harvey at RBM near Wharton Terrace Elementary — will set up an online storefront, produce two shirt colors (white and black), and handle payment processing and order fulfillment. Shirts will be $15 each; after shirt costs, website management fees and credit-card fees the city expects to receive about $4 to $5 per shirt to support Terrace Days activities. Customers will pick up shirts at the vendor's physical location rather than pay for mail delivery.
Councilmembers suggested adding the event date to the shirt design and obtaining sample shirts ahead of the sales launch to help with promotion. The vendor requires two to three weeks to manufacture shirts after the online sale window closes; staff said the online store will open next week and run through May for sales. There was no formal council action recorded on the merchandise arrangement; presenters emphasized the city will have no significant fiscal exposure because the vendor bears production cost.
Councilmembers also discussed using shirts as prizes in planned Terrace Days activities such as a pickleball tournament and a selfie scavenger hunt during the event to promote engagement.
