Cass County commissioners approve a series of property valuation adjustments and vouchers

At its meeting, the Cass County Board of Commissioners approved assessor-recommended adjustments and abatements for several properties and approved county vouchers supplied by the finance office.

Cannae Holdings LLC: The county assessor recommended a lower assessed value for a single-family property in Fargo after staff determined prior grading of interior finishes had been overstated at the time of construction and sale. Property owners Lee Myers and her husband addressed the board and said they had tried to document what existed in the house and were “cleaning up a mess.” The board approved the assessor’s suggested motion to adjust the assessment for the years presented.

LH Broadway LLC (406 and 412 Broadway): Assessor staff recommended a no-change in value for 406 Broadway and a reduction for 412 Broadway based on market support; the board approved the staff recommendation.

Park Ridge Apartments: Staff recommended reductions for a 37-unit luxury apartment building with unusually large units, noting comparable properties were difficult to find; the board approved the assessor’s recommended reduction.

Approved vouchers: Commissioners approved the vouchers as presented by the finance office. Commissioner comments noted a vendor listed as KNM Strategies LLC and described as an “alignment plan redevelopment for human services,” a reimbursement-eligible item paid through state funding; the vendor amount was described as “almost $25,000.”

Each motion was made, seconded and passed by roll call vote. Commissioners indicated no further public testimony was offered on these items at the meeting.
