Sheriff Tim Wakefield thanked law-enforcement officers and noted that local calls during the storm were largely slide-offs and motorist assists. "For the most part, mainly slide offs and motors assist is what we responded to," Wakefield said, adding that preemptive measures and improved vehicle fleet readiness helped emergency responders reach calls more quickly.
