Rhonda Wilcox, Nicholas Palmer and Emma Wood were sworn in as members of the Englewood Parks and Recreation Commission at the start of the Feb. 12 meeting. The three recited an oath to “support the Constitution of the United States, the constitution of the State of Colorado, and the charter and ordinances of the City of Englewood” and affirmed they would “faithfully perform the duties of office as a member of the Parks and Recreation Commission.”
After the oath, the commission completed roll call and approved the minutes of its Jan. 9 meeting by voice vote. The motion to accept the minutes was made and seconded; members present answered “aye,” and the chair announced the minutes approved.
The new members introduced themselves during the meeting. Rhonda Wilcox said she has lived in Englewood for more than two decades and sought the appointment to learn more about the city; Nicholas (Nick) Palmer, a 2018 Englewood resident, said he wanted to give back to the parks system; and Emma Wood introduced herself as a relatively new resident and said she has used Cushing Park frequently since becoming a parent.
The meeting then moved into agenda business, including capital-budget planning and project updates tied to the city’s recently passed bond.
