The Wayzata Public Schools Board of Education on Jan. 13 completed its yearly organizational business, electing officers for 2025, approving a one-year superintendent contract and formally adopting committee assignments, appointments and board compensation for the year. The board also voted 4–3 to postpone a motion to begin reciting the Pledge of Allegiance at regular meetings until its Feb. 10 meeting.
Board officers elected for 2025 included Milan Sahoney as chair, Heidi Kader as vice chair, Sarah Johansen as treasurer and Sheila Pryor as clerk. The board approved the meeting agenda and the consent agenda by roll call at the start of the meeting.
As part of other board actions the body approved a one-year renewal of the superintendent’s contract running through 2025–26 that includes a 2% salary increase and added ESST language, and moved the document forward by unanimous roll call.
