The Easton School Committee voted on Jan. 9 to approve two new sponsors for the Oliver Ames (OA) Class of 2025 banner and to permit families to be listed as sponsors on the banner alongside businesses.
Maria Palma (identified in the meeting as a Class of 2025 representative) told the committee the senior class is collecting sponsors for a banner to be displayed at graduation and other senior-week events. Palma said the group planned a consistent layout: a general congratulatory message at the top of the banner and a single uniform type size for all sponsor listings, whether family names or business logos. "We would just work it as a...standard size for each business or family that contributed," Palma said.
The two sponsors added to the list were Healthy Smiles Dentistry of West Bridgewater and Primary Colors (a photography company). Committee members asked about equity concerns for families who might not be able to contribute; Palma said the group had suggested a $100 contribution as a guideline but that the committee would treat names equally regardless of amount given.
After discussion about layout, message and fairness, a committee member moved to approve the additions of Healthy Smiles Dental and Primary Colors and to permit family sponsors on the OA 2025 banner; the motion was seconded and approved.
Committee members requested that the student representatives or advisors return with a mock-up as the banner design is finalized; the presenter said she would do so and that the art department would assist with layout. The banner is planned to be displayed at graduation and during senior-week activities.
