The dates identified for focused activity were Global Accessibility Awareness Day (March 15), the ADA anniversary (July 26), National Disability Employment Awareness Month (October) and International Day of Persons with Disabilities (Dec. 3). Committee members suggested focusing October on employment and recognition events and suggested outreach to statewide disability committees as potential partners.
Sponsors named in the discussion included Commissioner Lisa Chang and Commissioner Connor Kelly, and members suggested contacting former committee chair Ron Lucey, who now serves on a statewide committee, as a resource for planning.
