County finance staff: lodging tax checks to be cut after state website jurisdiction-code issue

San Miguel County Deputy Finance Director Paige Starks told the Lodging Tax Panel on March 7 that the county had experienced a delay pulling lodging-tax data from the state's website because of a jurisdictional-code issue, but that checks for quarter 4 had been processed and would be cut on Monday to go to Marketing Telluride and the Norwood Chamber.
Starks told the panel that reporting is typically two months behind and that county staff compiles lodging-tax receipts quarterly. The county has received fourth-quarter revenue but not the typical quarterly adjustment; staff expects to receive those adjustment figures in the next reporting cycle.
Panel members asked whether the delayed state processing represented an ongoing problem; Starks said she had not heard of any current issues beyond the recent website pull problem.
The panel did not take any formal action on the payment schedule but recorded the finance report for inclusion in the minutes and will follow up if additional adjustment amounts arrive.
