The Los Angeles City Council on March 7 adopted recommendations from the Department of Building and Safety for several items on the agenda, confirmed a lien with waived late fees for one property and received and filed an application that was withdrawn by the applicant.
At the start of the regular meeting the council clerk announced that items 1 through 9 were noticed for public hearing and that the Department of Building and Safety recommended actions including confirming leads, rescinding certain liens, and continuing some matters to later dates. The council approved the department's recommendations for items 1 through 5, 8 and 9 on the record.
Separately, Councilmember Lee called item 7 special and moved to waive late fees and interest and to confirm the remaining lien balance; the motion received a second on the floor and was adopted (recorded as 10 ayes). The council also moved to receive and file item 17 after the applicant withdrew their application; that procedural motion was adopted (recorded as 10 ayes).
The clerk noted continuances and scheduling for several items: the department recommended continuing items 1, 2, 3 and 5 to April 1, 2025, and continuing item 9 to May 6, 2025; item 6 had been continued earlier to March 14, 2025.
Council action on these items consisted of routine adoption of the department recommendations, confirmation of a property lien with late fees and penalties waived under a separate motion, and procedural receipt and filing of a withdrawn application. The council subsequently moved to post and refer additional motions as recorded on the docket.
