Carson City supervisors weigh state bills with potential local costs; board opposes SB 71, seeks amendment on SB 208

Carson City supervisors on Thursday reviewed a batch of bills pending before the Nevada Legislature that staff say could have direct fiscal or operational effects on the city and took formal positions on two measures.

Cameron Gresch, Carson City’s government affairs liaison, told the board the city is tracking dozens of bills and highlighted eight the city believes may carry a fiscal impact. Gresch said the city posts its fiscal notes on CarsonCityNV.gov and that some legislative text had been submitted as late material.

The bills discussed ranged from court-related measures to education and taxation.
