Clovis proclaims March 18 Transit Driver Appreciation Day; CATS director outlines plans to expand service to Cannon Air Force Base and airport

Staff said they have been coordinating with Cannon Air Force Base on security logistics for boarding at the base gate and working with Ecolane (the transit software provider) and city IT staff to set up scheduling and reservation systems. Staff said they hope to launch the expanded service relatively soon.
In presenting the proclamation, the mayor and commissioners praised drivers’ customer service and the transit system’s role in supporting local mobility. CATS staff said drivers “do a hard job” that goes beyond driving from “point A to point B,” including maintaining schedules and assisting riders under difficult conditions. City officials noted several longer-serving CATS staff members in the audience and said drivers would also participate in an upcoming statewide truck rodeo competition.
