Wabasha County planning commission-backed conditional use permits approved for manufacturing site and event center

The board approved the Burns CUP on a motion and voice vote.
Savannah Walsh’s CUP, submitted Nov. 19, 2024, requests operation of an event center on parcel R03.00023.00 in Guilford Township at 35526 County Road 31, Lake City. The planning commission unanimously recommended approval with nine conditions, including: adherence to submitted plans; seasonal operation May–October with specified hours for bridal, Saturday and Sunday events; noise from outdoor functions not to be perceptible beyond the property boundary "as per chapter 9.02 subpart 1 of the Wabasha County Zoning Ordinance"; no parking along County Road 31; sewage to be treated in accordance with Minnesota rule chapter 70 80 and 70 81 (as stated in the record); events limited to no more than 250 attendees; termination of the CUP if the business is no longer owned by Savannah Walsh; compliance with applicable local, state and federal laws; and a meeting with the county engineer to determine site-access safety. The board approved the Walsh CUP on a motion and voice vote.
