Council also approved Ordinance 748, which amends City Code Chapter 35 (Fees and Service Charges). Staff said the amended schedule adds cannabis registration fees (the earlier fee schedule had been approved before the cannabis registration ordinance) and adds legal and engineering billing lines and an adjusted park dedication line to better reflect current practice. Council members discussed a change to parks field rental minimums from three hours to two hours and asked staff to confirm the recommended adjustments; staff explained the changes are intended to increase transparency about third-party legal and engineering costs.
On appointments, the council approved a recommendation to appoint Renee Fagan to the Cable Commission for a three-year term. The council also amended the evening’s agenda to add liaison assignments and then appointed Council member Kevin Miller as the school district liaison for the duration of his council service.
