The treasurer reported countywide interest earnings for calendar year 2024 of $5,853,804.34, an increase of $618,228.56 over 2023. Commissioners approved the investment policy for the year.
Cancellation of warrants The treasurer presented 67 checks dated Dec. 31, 2022 and earlier recommended for cancellation and return of funds to their origin funds. The total amount canceled was $11,973.91; commissioners approved the cancellations.
NFIP Community Rating System recertification Area Planning presented the county's annual recertification for the National Flood Insurance Program Community Rating System; Kosciusko County participates as a Class 8 community. Commissioners approved the recertification.
Rezoning approvals Area Planning brought two rezoning requests with unanimous Planning Commission recommendations: Case 25-1-Z (Kreps) to rezone a roughly 7-acre tract from AG to AG-2 with a voluntary condition limiting lots to two, and Case 2025-2 (Showalter) to rezone a single 6-acre lot from AG to AG-2. Petitioners said the rezonings would result in one additional lot in each instance. Commissioners approved both rezonings by voice vote.
