The Crete Public Schools Board of Education on Monday approved a third amendment to Mammoth Construction’s contract for work on the district’s athletic complex, adding a base price of $510,094 and bringing the phase-1 contract total to $2,269,000.
District staff described the amendment as covering the parking lot, all sidewalks throughout the complex that lead to and around the bleachers, and drainage pond work required by the project. The scoreboard remains listed as an alternate and is dependent on separate fundraising, staff said.
Board member Greg Holman moved to approve the amendment; a second was offered by board member Vince. The motion passed on a roll-call vote with each board member recording a “yes.” The board president noted the amendment should be the third and final contract for phase 1 pending no unforeseen changes.
Construction progress remained on schedule despite recent rain, staff reported. Completion of phase 1 was described as likely in August, barring any unexpected setbacks.
The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 7, at 6 p.m. in the Cardinal Welcome Center Zoom Room.
