Council directs nuisance proceedings over apartment at 2548 Spring Street after closed session

City Attorney Elizabeth Hall reported to the Paso Robles City Council after closed session that the council had given direction to initiate nuisance proceedings related to an apartment complex at 2548 Spring Street.

Hall said the council went into closed session on multiple items, including “conference with legal counsel regarding real property negotiations pursuant to government code section 54956.8 regarding 4391 Aerotech Center Way and 4385 Aerotech Center Way,” and that there was no reportable action on that matter. She reported the council also met regarding potential initiation of litigation pursuant to “government code section 54956.94,” and that on one of those potential-litigation items the council “directed the city attorney's office to begin nuisance proceedings related to the apartment complex located at ... 2548 Spring Street,” and that vote on that direction was “a 5 0 vote.”

Hall said the council also discussed existing litigation — John Voorst versus the city of El Paso de Robles — and a separately identified Tribune v. City of Paso Robles and Council member Bausch; Hall said there was no reportable action on those matters.

No members of the public addressed the closed-session items during the meeting's pre-closed-session public comment time, and Hall provided the closed-session report at the council's evening reconvening.
