The Washington County Board of Education voted unanimously to accept a $45,360 donation from Creekbound Farms and Botanica Enterprises to pay for sod and its installation at the Boonsboro High School stadium.
The donation was presented at the board’s business meeting as the single item of new business. "Doctor Wilcox and I today are requesting approval of the donation in the amount of $45,360 from Creek Bound Farms and Botanica Enterprises for SAWD and its installation at the Boonsboro High School Stadium," Mr. Pruf said during the meeting.
President Zentmayer moved to approve the donation; a second was recorded and the board approved the motion by voice vote. The meeting record shows the motion was accepted on the floor with the chair calling for those "in favor" and indicating the motion passed.
The board offered brief remarks of appreciation. During the meeting President Zentmayer thanked the donors and recognized community support for the project, and the board recognized Daphne, a student whose service the board praised during closing remarks.
The donation will be added to the district’s records and the facilities team will coordinate installation with the school. No additional funding or budgetary action by the board was recorded during the meeting related to this donation.
