Wendell — The Wendell Town Board accepted a $3,646 donation from the Ho and Hope Garden Club on behalf of the Kelly Conley Community Garden at Wendell Park.
Garden club representatives and community gardeners told the board the funds were raised at a bingo night fundraiser with strong turnout and local business support. Town staff listed intended uses including a yard hydrant installation, tillers, trellis and planting supplies, wheelbarrow, weed barriers and other gardening supplies to support the community garden’s operations.
A board member moved to accept the donation and the board approved the motion by voice vote. Town staff and the garden club planned a photo to mark the donation.
Garden club leaders in attendance included leaders identified by staff as Benny Collins, Shelley Ryan and Warren Boyette. The board thanked donors and volunteers for supporting the garden.
