MDC approves continuances, three resolutions and no-appeal docket; new member welcomed

The Metropolitan Development Commission on May 21 handled a set of procedural items, approving continuances, three administrative resolutions and a multi-item no-appeal docket.
Continuances - Petition 2025 ZON-019 (agenda item 6): Counsel Stephanie Truschen requested a continuance to the June 18 hearing; the commission approved the continuance (vote recorded during roll call). The petitioner reported the continuance request was communicated to staff May 15. - Petition 2025 CAP-804 (agenda item 11; addresses 324 W. Morris St. and 325 Wilkins St.): Staff requested a continuance to the June 4 hearing to allow time for executed commitments to be submitted; the commission approved the continuance 8–0.
Resolutions (read into the record and approved as a group) Nancy read three resolutions into the record and the commission took them together as a single vote: - 2025 A-016: Preliminary economic revitalization area resolution for Kimball Electronics, Indianapolis Incorporated, 1220 S. Post Road (recommendation: six-year personal property tax abatement). - 2025 E-012: Resolution authorizing removal of certain parcels from the consolidated Fall Creek citizens redevelopment area and creating the Oxford Row allocation area (Council District 12, Center Township). - 2025 P-006: Resolution appointing Metropolitan Development Commissioner Brandon Herget to the Marion County Plat Committee for the period through 12/31/2025. All three resolutions were approved 8–0.
No-appeal docket Staff read a multi-item no-appeal docket (petitions recommended for approval by the hearing examiner). The commission took the docket as a group and approved the listed items by voice/roll call.
Other business President Dillon recognized and welcomed new commission member Greg West, an appointee from the City-County Council. He also recognized Commissioner Brandon Herget’s recent appointment to the Marion County Plat Committee.
The meeting adjourned following these actions.
