The Town of Danvers Select Board discussed a previously signed resolution regarding Beverly Regional Airport and considered an alternate draft circulated after the board’s earlier action.
A board member noted that the alternate draft contained “less than factual information” and said they would not have signed that draft. Other members said they supported sending the original resolution that the board approved at an earlier meeting (signed April 15, 2025). Several members also said they did not believe the board has legal authority to impose a moratorium of the type suggested in the alternate draft.
Select Board members reached consensus to move forward with the original resolution they had already signed rather than adopt the alternate version. No additional amendments were adopted during the May 20 meeting; the board indicated it would continue to consider future revisions if members proposed them for review.
The town manager and select board agreed that no formal motion was required if the board did not amend the existing resolution; staff were directed to proceed with the original signed document.
