Planning commission announces vacancy after member moves out; approves Nov. 13 minutes

The Milford Planning and Zoning Commission on Feb. 19 approved minutes from its Nov. 13 public hearing and regular meeting and heard administrative items from planning staff, including a newly posted vacancy on the commission.
Nick Scofield moved to accept the Nov. 13 minutes; Garland Carter seconded. The motion carried after a voice vote; the chair announced the motion carried.
Lisa Thompson, the planning and zoning administrator, told the commission that Michelle Croft has moved outside the town limits and therefore can no longer serve. Thompson said the city posted the vacancy the same day and asked anyone interested to submit a letter of interest to the city office; the appointment will go before the City Council for approval at a future meeting.
During commission reports, a member asked about an informal inquiry from a resident — identified in the meeting as a neighbor of Dustin Whitaker — about bringing manufactured or modular homes into town. Thompson advised the neighbor should contact planning staff with the property location, and said the Hornsilver and Sunnyside subdivisions likely do not allow manufactured homes and that there are few vacant lots available in town.
The commission adjourned after completing items on the agenda.
