Ogden School District board sworn in new member and elects officers at work session

Swearing‑in Board leadership administered the oath and welcomed John Peterson to the board. Staff indicated a prior November‑elected board member had resigned and that the district is advertising to fill that vacancy for a two‑year term with interviews scheduled later in January.
Officer elections A board member nominated Joyce Wilson for board president; another board member seconded the nomination. The board approved the nomination by voice vote with members answering "Aye." The same process followed for the vice president position: Arlene Anderson was nominated and seconded and approved by voice vote.
Committee assignments Board leadership reported having sent committee assignments by email on Dec. 20 and asked members to advise if they wish to change any assignments; the board discussed filling committees that had only a single member and agreed to continue the conversation.
Ending Board leadership noted an upcoming state school board conference and said they would continue individual outreach on committee roles and calendaring.
