A resident who identified himself as the governmental affairs director for Greater Chattanooga Realtors and as a Signal Mountain resident gave a public comment summarizing local housing activity and community recovery resources.
He said Greater Chattanooga Realtors represents about 2,700 local realtors and that in January 2025 there were 13 home sales on Signal Mountain with a median sales price of $735,000. He cautioned that small sales counts make median prices less stable. He also cited a 2024 National Association of Realtors analysis describing the statewide economic impact of home sales and reported that home sales in Tennessee contributed about $84 billion in economic activity for the state in 2024 (15.7% of gross state product), and that the association’s per-sale economic-impact figure for Tennessee was about $120,000.
The commenter also said he leads contemporary worship at Signal Crest United Methodist and noted that Celebrate Recovery on Signal Mountain is supported by six churches (Wayside Baptist, Signal Mountain Presbyterian, The Pointe, Signal Christian Methodist, Signal Mountain Bible Church and one other the speaker did not name during his remarks). He said Celebrate Recovery meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. and left pamphlets with the council.
