Springfield School Board Approves Personnel, Trustee Appointments, Roofing Contracts and Compensation Items; Several Change Orders Granted

At its meeting, the Springfield School District board approved a package of motions covering personnel, appointments, construction contracts and compensation items. Most motions passed unanimously by recorded voice or roll-call votes.

Key approvals included the personnel report, which the board approved by motion. The personnel report included the resignation of one noncertified staff member, employment of three noncertified staff members, employment of three long-term substitute teachers and five requests for leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act. The personnel motion carried 8–0.

The board accepted the resignation of Kevin Keenan as secretary of the board of school directors, effective immediately, and appointed Jennifer Flynn to complete Keenan’s term through June 30, 2025; both measures were approved 8–0.

The board also voted to accept a proposed settlement agreement for student 13791; the board noted it had been briefed but said details could not be discussed in public. That motion passed 8–0.
