Commission Chair Herron opened the Feb. 5 meeting and moved the consent calendar for consideration. A commissioner seconded the motion; the chair then asked commissioners to vote. "That motion passes unanimously," the meeting record shows. The motion text recorded in the transcript is "I move the consent calendar," with a second of "I'll second that." The transcript did not name the mover or seconder nor provide a roll-call vote; staff announced the motion passed unanimously.
Separately, Deputy City Manager McGovern informed the commission that the City Council had appointed two people to the Community Services Commission at the council's most recent meeting. McGovern said the council appointed Justo Fuentes and Zia Jones and that the city plans to swear them in at the commission's March 5 meeting. McGovern said staff plans to brief the new commissioners in advance of that meeting and noted the commission will thank departing members at the same time.
During public comment, Zia Jones introduced herself and said she looks forward to being sworn in next month. No other public commenters addressed matters not on the agenda.
The Feb. 5 commission meeting adjourned with the next regular meeting scheduled for March 5, 2025.
