University Hill commission approves minutes, 2025 priorities and a letter thanking ambassador program

The University Hill Community Management Commission took three formal votes at its Jan. 7 meeting.

1) Approval of Nov. minutes: The commission moved to accept the November meeting minutes "as presented." A commissioner moved the motion; Danica Powell seconded. The chair called the question and the commission approved the minutes.

2) Adoption of 2025 priorities: Commissioners approved four priorities for 2025 (readiness for increased visitation and foot traffic; cleanliness and safety; inclusion of parking in redevelopment planning; and near- and long-term fiscal resiliency for the improvement district). The motion was amended during discussion to clarify that parking be "considered" in redevelopment planning; the amendment was accepted, the motion moved and seconded, and the commission voted to approve the priorities as amended.

3) Letter thanking ambassador program and staff: Commissioners approved a staff-drafted letter to the university thanking the ambassador program and its staff for on-the-ground work. The commission also approved adding Bettina (Block by Block supervisor) as a cc on the letter so city staff could ensure ambassador staff received the recognition. The chair will sign the letter on behalf of the commission.
