Committee approves clerical corrections to municipal code sections adopted with 2024 IFC

The Rapid City Legal and Finance Committee on Feb. 12 approved the introduction and first reading of Ordinance No. 6,653 to fix numerical clerical errors found in sections 8.24.0.3 and 8.24.0.61 of the Rapid City Municipal Code that were identified after adoption of the 2024 International Fire Code (IFC).
Kate Kinsley of the city attorney’s office said the publisher of the IFC identified a few numerical errors in the multi-page document and the ordinance would correct those errors. No policy changes were proposed.
A motion to approve introduction and first reading was made, seconded and the committee carried the item by voice vote.
