The Huron City Commission on Dec. 30 approved the city’s 2025 certified pay schedule, which the commission described as reflecting a 4% cost-of-living increase plus a 2% step increase for eligible staff.
Commissioner Smith presented the pay schedule, stating it covers full-time employees, elected officials and certain part-time positions. The presentation said the city currently has 35 full-time equivalent (FTE) positions. Commissioners said the pay adjustments are consistent with negotiated union contracts and budgeted amounts for the coming year.
A motion to approve the schedule was moved and seconded and passed by roll call.
Why it matters: The schedule sets salary increases and step progressions that affect city payroll for 2025 and are tied to previously negotiated union provisions and the city’s budget.
What the meeting showed: The commission debated the item briefly and recorded a unanimous roll-call approval. The vote and the pay schedule as presented were adopted and will take effect for calendar year 2025.
