Applicant Austin Tasca and the fire prevention captain confirmed the necessary emergency-light corrections had been completed; the clerk noted the updated report had not yet been received on the clerk’s desk. - Cranson Cookies LLC (doing business as Crumble Cookies) at 4000 Chapelville Boulevard: Approved pending the outcome of a Rhode Island Department of Health final inspection and license. The applicant said construction would finish the week following the meeting and the health inspector was scheduled to visit. - Pawtucket Village Market: Approved after the council received the Rhode Island Department of Health license earlier the same day. - Pizza Mama (A&P Cranston / Pizza Mama) at 640 Reservoir Avenue: Continued and referred for code enforcement and fire inspections to report back to the committee before the next meeting. - Greek Orthodox Church, 175 Oak Lawn Avenue: Class F liquor license for a fundraiser on Feb. 8, 2025, approved; hours 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. - Pippin Apple Orchard holiday sales license: Approved for seasonal hours (9 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday–Sunday) through the fall/Thanksgiving period.
The committee also approved multiple routine license renewals and permissive permits in block votes, including mobile food establishments, massage therapy, private detective and other licenses. Door-to-door solicitation licenses listed on the agenda were accepted for record and approved where required.
Why it matters: These routine licensing votes determine whether businesses can operate legally and safely in Cranston and ensure that outstanding public-safety or health prerequisites are met before final licenses are issued.
Several license approvals were explicitly conditioned on receipt of documentation: either a certificate of occupancy, a Rhode Island Department of Health license, or an updated fire marshal inspection report. When documents were missing, the clerk was directed to hold licenses until the paperwork arrived and to return items to the council if conditions were unmet.
