Lake County commissioners certify 2025 mill levies, pass levy resolution

County staff read a roster of taxing jurisdictions whose levies were certified, including Lake County government; the City of Leadville; Lake County School District R‑1; Leadville Sanitation District; Sylvan Lakes Metropolitan District; Colorado Mountain College; Saint Vincent General Hospital District; Brooklyn Heights Metropolitan District; Mountain View Village Water and Sanitation District; and Panarck Metropolitan District. The transcript shows Parkville and Alta were noted as not having submitted levies for certification at the meeting.
The board recorded the county levy at 39.5 mills and the City of Leadville at 18.9 mills. Colorado Mountain College was read as 3.23 mills and Saint Vincent’s Hospital (general hospital district) as 9.106 mills. Other amounts were read on the record but portions of the recording are unclear; the board’s final vote certified the levies as read and approved the levy resolution for fiscal year 2025.
Members and staff also noted a typographical issue with resolution numbers in a prior meeting’s record; they said earlier items should be numbered 43 and 44, and the public posting of the special meeting showed the correct numbers despite the verbal typos. No substantive debate or amendments to the levies were recorded.
The board thanked staff for coordinating and calculating the levies and closed the special meeting shortly after the vote.
