A speaker identified as an early childhood education (ECE) student said two former ECE students returned to participate and that the program trains future teachers and day care staff: "We were so blessed to have 2 of the ECE students from last year. That's early childhood education here. They are being trained for our future teachers and day cares, and they wanted to provide to our parents."
A parent who helped with bagging toys recounted hearing from families who lacked resources for the holidays: "I had a family to, tell me how much it meant for them since they didn't have enough resources to get, touch for the holidays. So I feel like this is actually helping them get a boost for the holidays and have take weight off their shoulders."
Organizers and participants said the event drew parents and staff together and produced visible enjoyment. "It's a great event. Parents get to come together. Teachers here, I would say, bring smiles to all of our faces," a Head Start staff member said.
